Jose Cuervo Reposado Tequila was the first ever Tequila made after José Maria Guadalupe de Cuervo was granted land by the King of Spain in 1758 to grow the now famous Agave plant. 'Cuervo' gets its colour and distinct flavour from extended time spent in quality American oak where flavours of orange peel and cinnamon are cultivated.
Jose Cuervo Gold is golden-style joven tequila made from a blend of reposado (aged) and younger tequilas. Ever the story-maker, Cuervo Gold’s own story includes the leading role in the invention of The Margarita, and it is still the perfect tequila for that beloved cocktail. It's a perfect choice for making Margarita cocktails, and has a mild agave flavor.
Nose: Hints of soft spice and mixed peels. Dried herbs, baked agaves and honey. Palate: Creamy, slightly tangy palate. Mixed spices, toasted oak, agave and a herbal character. Finish: Slightly oaky, spicy finish.
In 1795, the King of Spain granted José Antonio de Cuervo the first concession ever to produce Tequila commercially. This singular event marked the birth of Tequila. Today, Jose Cuervo Especial Gold is the No. 1 selling Tequila in the world. The Jose Cuervo recipe and process has been passed down and upheld by a family of entrepreneurs, inventors, and risk-takers. It is no wonder why Jose Cuervo is the most awarded family of Tequila in history. Legend has it that Cuervo Gold was used to make the first ever Margarita. Cuervo Gold is a blend of Reposado and younger Tequilas. The result is a well-balanced, smooth Tequila that makes the perfect Margarita, frozen or on the rocks.
